7(x-2) - (x + 3)

Pretend that there is a -1 in front of the second bracket

7(x-2)- 1(x+3)

Multiply the first bracket by 7

(7)(x)=7x

(7)(-2)=-14

Multiply the second bracket by -1

(-1)(x)=-x

(-1)(3)=-3

7x-14-x-3

7x-x-14- 3 ( combine like terms)

Answer: 6x-17
