The verbs ser and estar both mean "to be", so what is the difference between the two?

my middle school teacher taught me this: for what you feel and where you are, you always use estar. hope that helps lol

Ser is going to be and estar is how you are for example vas a ser is talking about the future and estar is how you are in present time
