In back to my own country why does the young levy identify herself more with whites than with blacks

Being Black is seen as something to be looked down upon in this society of racist comments. The young levy most likely associates herself more with whites than Blacks as she does not want to be the target of these racist comments so she hopes associating herself with whites means that she doesn't become a target of these racist comments
