A.) Balance is what I would say. Proportion is more size related and imagery is something else completely.

Balance, it makes most sense. Proportion and imagery don't matter as much when compared to balance. Balance gives it a certain sensibility and elegance. You can have imagery and proportion but if there is no balance between colors or figures then it's just another drawing or painting made by an amateur. Balance is what sets it apart.
