Le it's for masculin (man)
La it's for feminin( girl)
L' when the word start by a vowel
Les it's for all the nouns in the plural
Lui it's him
Leur it's their

La is feminine
L' is when there are 2 vowels together. (e.g. l'eau - it would be le eau but there are 2 vowels next to each other)
Les is plural
Lui means to him/her (e.g. lui a dit - meaning said to him/her)
