Just like the way you would divide 6 by 2 for example, you do the same for this.

The answer is 5x-2.

you have ti subsitute
5x^2-22x+8= (x-4)(5x-2)
so in (x-4)(5x-2)/x-4
x-4 is cancelled
the answer is 5x-2
