Area equals three time the square root of three all of this divided by 2 times the length of the side squared. So this would be 1039.23mi^2

First, find the area of one of the equilateral triangles that make up the hexagon. The formula for area of a triangle is bh/2, so make the expression (20*17.3)/2, which when simplified is 173. Then multiply that by six (one for each triangle in the hexagon) so you have the final area: 1,038.
