let x the first number
x+1  the second
and x+2 the third

 twice the middle    2(x+1)

two more than the third  2+(x+2)

2(x+1) - 3 = 2+(x+2)

2x + 2 -3 = 2+x+2

x= 5        the second  6      the third 7
