View the '>' sign as you would and '=' sign when solving for Q. As the > is like the = sign in that it separates two expressions that directly relate to eachother

Q-1/2>1/3
add 1/2 to both sides
Q>1/2+1/3
convert 1/2 and 1/3 to ?/6
Q>3/6+2/6
solve
